Entry 009 · Questions
Questions we are actually asked
Short answers. Where an answer depends on the operator, the ledger carries the figure.
Common
Fourteen questions
Do I have to spend money?
No. Every operator in this ledger offers a free postal entry route for promotional currency, and it is a real route, not a formality. The purchase option exists because post is slow.
Can I cash out Gold Coins?
No, and no operator claims otherwise. Gold Coins are play currency with no value outside the game. Only Sweepstakes Coins, or the equivalent, may be redeemed.
How long does a payout take?
Between seven hours and three days across this ledger, measured as the median from request to funds received. The payout column carries each figure.
What is a redemption floor?
The minimum promotional balance you must hold before you may request a redemption. Fifty SC at most operators, a hundred at three, 1,200 FC at Fortune Coins.
What is playthrough?
How many times you must play the promotional currency before it may be redeemed. Sixteen of the eighteen entries here require 1x; Golden Hearts and ThrillCoins require 2x.
Why was I asked for ID?
Operators verify identity before paying out, as a condition of operating lawfully. Supplying documents at signup rather than at redemption is the single most effective way to get paid quickly.
Which states are excluded?
Washington and Idaho almost everywhere; Michigan, Nevada and Montana at several operators. The geography entry carries the detail.
Are winnings taxable?
Yes, as income. Operators issue a 1099-MISC above the federal threshold. State treatment varies and we are not tax advisers.
Is the welcome package the whole offer?
No. Most operators run daily login bonuses, mail-in entries and periodic promotions that outweigh the welcome package within a few weeks. We record the welcome package because it is the only figure that is comparable at signup.
Can I hold accounts at several operators?
Yes. Each is a separate promotion with its own terms. One account per person per operator is the universal rule; multiple accounts at one operator is the fastest route to forfeiture.
Do you take money from these operators?
From some, yes. It is disclosed in the footer of every page and it is not an input to the rating. Our method entry sets out what is.
How often is the ledger revised?
Payout medians monthly; every other field when an operator changes it.
Why is one operator rated below another with a bigger package?
Because payout speed carries 40% of the weighting and package value 25%. A large package behind a slow payout rates below a modest package paid in seven hours.
What if a figure here is wrong?
Write to us with the field and the correct value. We would rather be corrected than consistent.
